  • Emergency Contacts： Names and emails of your designated contacts, used only in emergencies

  • Secure Storage： Your check-in records and account info are safely stored on servers, with only essential login tokens kept locally
  • Encrypted Transmission： All data transfers are encrypted
  • Minimalist Principle： We only collect data essential for safety functionality

What We Never Collect

  • Geolocation data
  • Device identifiers
  • Browsing history or behavioral data
  • Any third-party analytics data

3. How We Use Your Data

Normal Data Usage

  • Check-in Reminders： Gentle reminders sent to your registered email when you haven't checked in for 24-32 hours
  • Account Management： Using your name and email to maintain your account status

Emergency Data Usage

  • Safety Alerts： Automated safety alert emails sent to your emergency contacts when you haven't checked in for 48-72 consecutive hours
  • Email Content： Only includes your name and check-in status, no other personal information

4. Data Sharing Policy

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties. Data is only disclosed in the following circumstances:

  • Emergency Contacts： Automated alerts to your designated contacts after multiple missed check-ins
  • Legal Requirements： Only when required by valid legal processes

Data Access Rights

You can view and export your check-in records and contact information anytime by logging into your account.

Data Deletion Rights

If you decide to stop using our service, you can delete your account at any time, and all associated data will be permanently removed.

Contact Management Rights

You can add, modify, or delete emergency contact information at any time.

CheckDead operates on a free basic tier + optional premium services model:

Current Free Features

  • Core Features Always Free： Daily check-ins, safety reminders, and essential functions remain completely free
  • Emergency Contact Limit： Free version supports adding 1 emergency contact by default
  • No Advertising： We don't profit from showing ads
  • No Data Sales： We never profit from selling user data

Future Premium Services (Optional)

  • Additional Contacts： Future paid options may allow adding more emergency contacts
  • Voluntary Support： If you find our service valuable, you can choose to support development through donations

7. Data Retention Policy

  • Active Accounts： Data is retained until you actively delete your account
  • Account Deletion： When you delete your account, all associated data is immediately and completely removed from our systems
  • Emergency Contact Data： Stored with your account data in our database and deleted simultaneously when you delete your account
